Well, I am blogging this under the funny category, but this is absolutely serious business stuff at the same time.

Intel has commissioned a survey to better understand how reliant people have become on the Internet. 2119 adults were surveyed. Here are the results:

  • 46% of women surveyed were willing to give up sex for 2 weeks instead of losing internet access for 2 weeks.
  • Men are less willing to give up sex overall, with 39% surveyed saying that they would be willing to give up the ‘net. 39% is still a pretty big number though.
  • The numbers are even more pronounced in the 35-44 women age group, with 52% saying that they’d rather forgo sex.
  • Well, just for kicks, CNET has posted their own informal online survey. Here is the result when I checked.
