Would You Buy the iPod Touch Macro?
Multiple blogs are swirling about rumors that Apple will be releasing a 7” or 9” iPod Touch by Fall 2009. TechCrunch has its report here.
It’s shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone that Apple is working on this. After all, many other companies have experimented with the Mobile Internet Device (MID) category for several years. The thinking is that there is a third category of devices, next to your cell phone and your laptop, that you might carry in the future.
This promise of a third device has largely failed to become reality up to this point. Sure, there’s been many UMPC’s, small Tablets, etc., but none of them have had mass adoption.
So my question is what secret ingredients will Apple put into its large size iPod Touch to lure consumers into buying such a device? If it’s the only differentiating feature is a larger screen, the device will be doomed for failure, as it won’t have enough benefit for consumers to carry a third device, and it’s clearly too large to replace a cell phone.
So would you carry a 3rd device? What features would it have to have? Leave a comment!

Have it integrated to the brand name handbags and turn it into a fashion statement. Those hand bags are already really heavy anyways, having a device attached to it won’t make that much of a difference. How’s that?

i don’t know how Steve can just stand up there and lie by saying the best web experience and better than a laptop. with no flash support, you are missing more than half the internet. why couldnt you just make a tablet with a slim down version of osx steve?
