You may know, that we here at SkratchBoard.com, are big believers of location-based services and applications. Wired magazine seems to agree with us. The cover of the Feb. 09 issue of Wired magazine is dedicated to the “GPS Revolution”.

If you have an iPhone, BlackBerry or an Android phone, we would highly recommend checking out their Top 10 mobile apps that make use of location information.

Some apps that made the list are:

  1. Trapster – tells you where the cops and traffic cameras are using crowd-sourced info.
  2. Locale – changes your phone’s profile and settings depending on where you are. It can even automatically twitter for you when you change location!
  3. iNap – no need to worry about oversleeping on a train or bus. iNap will wake you up when you are close to your destination!

You can see the full list here.

The issue also has a pretty hilarious article about Mathew Honan’s 3-week journey into using as many location-based apps as he could. If you want to read about Mathew’s adventure on getting asked to send a nude picture by a nearby stranger and how he almost got busted at work because he was publishing his location online, head over to Wired.
