Motorola, Samsung and Acer have all promised to release Android phones in 2009. But up until now, there hasn’t been any more information than those vague promises.

What’s better than getting some lovely pictures of future phones?

Earlier this week, Samsung announced that its first Android-based phone, i7500, will be released in Europe starting in June. The device boasts impressive specs: 3.2 inch AMOLED display, 8GB internal memory with microSD expansion slot, quad-band world phone, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0, and built-in GPS. The device is 4.5 inches tall by 2.2 inches wide. The Russian mobile review site has more hands-on pictures here.

On the not-so-official front, Boy Genius Report claims Motorola’s landscape QWERTY slider phone called Calgary is going to be Moto’s first Android-based phone. Information is still a little sketchy at the moment, but it is also rumored that Moto is working on a portrait QWERTY keyboard slider phone called Ironman.

Finally, no new news from Acer really, but it is rumored that the Acer A1 due in September will be the company’s first Android phone. No real pictures yet either, but at least we have a mockup for you to look at below for now. You can imagine whatever specs you want for this one (wink).
