Augmented Reality – or overlaying digital information/things on top of reality is an area poised for growth. There are many potentially useful scenarios: pointing at a person can retrieve their profile on Facebook; pointing at a movie theater lets you buy tickets for the latest flick; pointing at a patient’s room in a hospital lets you find out the latest status on the patient.

Here is a video that demonstrates potential use in a real estate application. The application is called Layar, and it’s available on Android. It overlays real estate information over the actual properties as they appear through the camera lens of the Android phone:
